During and before the Great War both sides developed many new types of technology: like airplanes, machine guns, and many different kinds of gas. They also invented new ways to defend against the new technologies, like in the picture to the left, where humans and animals alike wear gas masks. In our section of the museum the new technologies of World War One—gas, machine guns, and airplanes—are explained.
