School District 95 encompasses an area of 19.4 square miles,
which includes the community of Lake Zurich, portions of
Deer Park, Hawthorn Woods, Kildeer
and North Barrington and unincorporated areas in Forest
Lake and Echo Lake.
District 95 has
experienced tremendous growth during the past decade.
Enrollment is currently at 6570 students with continued
growth expected each year. To accommodate the influx of
new students, several new buildings have been added and
many building additions have been completed, made
possible with the passing of a referendum in 2002. A
sixth elementary school opened in September of 2003 and
a new Middle School North will open in January of 2004.
There have also been additions to three elementary
schools and the existing Middle School North.
Lake Zurich High
School completed a massive building and renovation
program in 2003. A new state-of-the-art science wing was
opened earlier in 2003 followed by the completion of a
new field house which can seat up to 3000. A theater and
music wing is close to completion and a Performing Arts
Center is scheduled to open spring of 2004. Other
renovation projects include office areas, cafeteria and
classrooms to accommodate 2059 students.
Previously, 30
other classrooms, another gymnasium and a theatre were
added at Lake Zurich High School. In November of 1991,
the community approved a referendum to build a second
middle school and a new elementary school, both which
opened in July,1993. Additions to three elementary
schools and Middle School South were completed in 1996.
Several other addition/renovation projects were
completed in 1999.
District 95
operates six elementary schools, two middle schools, one
senior high school, a staff development center and an
administration center.
The
administration, staff, Board of Education and community
of District 95 are dedicated to providing the best
possible education for every child. In addition to a
comprehensive instructional program, various
extra-curricular activities are available to students. A
full complement of special services is provided in
reading, learning disabilities, speech services, ESL and
gifted education. A nutritional hot lunch program is
available in all schools. District 95 is affiliated
with, and has services available from, the Lake County
Area Vocational Center, the Special Education District
of Lake County and the Lake County Educational Service
Center.
Community and
parental support for District 95 schools is exceptional.
We encourage parents and citizens to become actively
involved in the school program by keeping well informed
about the schools as well as the total operation of the
district.
