Bear Facts Online
Editorial Policy
Bear Facts is the official newspaper of LZHS, created entirely by students. Bear Facts is a production of the Advanced Journalism Newspaper Production class (AJNP). All design and much of the writing is produced by those students. Bear Facts, however, is also an extracurricular activity and is open to all students regardless of age or other involvement.
While nearly all of the articles and photos in Bear Facts are the product of LZHS students, the editors may periodically elect to run material obtained from Knight Rider/Tribune Information Services (KRT). In the event that such a decision is made, the article and/or photo will be credited as directed by KRT.
Bear Facts strives to be a free forum publication and as such, always welcomes submissions from any interested contributors. We strive to provide the school community with an informative and creative newspaper and will not accept obscene, libelous, or otherwise objectionable articles, and reserve the right to refuse articles or advertisements for any reason.
Letters to the editor should be delivered to any AJNP staff member and will only be considered for print in Bear Facts if the writer’s name and year in school or other age-appropriate title is indicated. We reserve the right to edit (while preserving the original intent of the letter) or refuse any letters to the editor if the need arises. The opinions expressed in editorials/letters to the editor do not necessarily reflect those of the entire staff of Bear Facts or District 95. All letters must be turned in two weeks prior to the intended issue’s publication. The writers and editors assume full responsibility for the contents of the publication.
Bear Facts is published nine times a year as a public forum and is a member of the National Scholastic Press Association, the Columbia Press Association, the Kettle Moraine Press Association, and the Quill and Scroll Society.
