Grade 11 Counseling Curriculum

 

As a result of participation in the LZHS developmental counseling program, every grade 11 student will acquire the knowledge, skills and attitudes to:

  1. create their action plan including the steps to reach their post-secondary goals.
  2. evaluate the importance of setting realistic career goals and aligned ambitions and striving toward them.
  3. research appropriate post-secondary choices.
  4. as a result of the Junior Year Post-Secondary Planning meetings, students will become aware of the resources available and learn how to make a college connection, including how to search for and apply to college and research other post-secondary educational options.
  5. identify the relationship between positive choices, responsible behavior and maximizing future opportunities.

The above objectives will be accomplished second semester during Junior Year Post-Secondary Planning meetings held in the College/Career Center and throughout the year during evening presentations by college admission officers.
