Grade 10 Counseling Curriculum

As a result of participation in the LZHS developmental counseling program, every grade 10 student will acquire the knowledge, skills and attitudes to:

1. make appropriate career decisions by using the results from Career Cruising and the PLAN test.
2. identify one career and learn how to research the training and education needed, earnings, expected job prospects, what workers do on the job and working conditions.
3. integrate their career and academic goals into future planning.
4. interpret their PLAN test results, review their transcripts and update their 4 year plans.
5. make healthy choices related to their personal safety.
6. distinguish between alternatives that involve varying degrees of risk.

The above objectives will be accomplished in the winter during PLAN Interpretation in their English classes.
