You are invited to participate in this year’s Parent Teacher Conferences.  New this year, due to parent and teacher requests, we have added an additional day to the fall conference schedule.  We realize that the children of one family may be enrolled at several different schools in the district dependent on their grade level.

Conferences are scheduled for Thursday, November 6th from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 18th from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. and Tuesday, November 25th from 12:50 to 2:50 p.m.  Parent Teacher Conferences are unique because they provide a specific period of time when conversations about student progress take place.  If you are unable to participate in this scheduled conference time, we encourage you to make appointments with teachers directly at their voice mail extensions or by contacting the main office at 847-719-3600 at any time during the school day.

The PT Conference Maker has been designed to be as easy-to-use as possible and requires little to no experience using the Internet.  Online registration will begin at 7:00 A.M. on October 27th and will end at 5:00 P.M. on November 3rd.

Registration can take place on any Internet accessible computer.  Please refer to the Registration Worksheet on the back side of this letter, which contains all the information you will need to register your conferences online.  Although the registration process is quite simple, we have enclosed a brochure with an overview of how to use the system.  Step by step instructions are available on the North website.  Also included is a list of teachers’ voice mail numbers, email addresses and room numbers.

How do I schedule conferences?

Access the conference site as you would any website, by typing the above address into the address field of your web browser.  While viewing the home page, click on the information box near the top. Roll the mouse over “parent resources” and choose “conference information”. You may “test” the conference website before October 27th, so that we can assist you with resolving any browser or technology issues prior to the opening of the system.  If you reach this screen, you can be confident of successfully scheduling conferences once the system is active.

The PT Conference Maker system supports all current web browsers including Microsoft Internet Explorer, Netscape, and Safari.  American Online users who are unfamiliar with accessing non-AOL content should refer to AOL keyword: HELP.

What if I need assistance with scheduling a conference?

Step by step instructions for using the system are available on North’s website for your convenience.  Additionally, there are several other methods of assistance available. 

Please note:  If the system will not allow you to schedule a conference with a specific teacher because that teacher’s schedule is full, please contact that teacher directly via voice mail to make alternative arrangements.

Conferences are an important time to discuss your students’ progress with their teachers. However, it is not the only time that a parent can do so. Teachers are available throughout the whole year by phone, e-mail and appointment. Please feel free to contact them anytime to set up a meeting.
