World Cultures Class Guidelines

 

GRADING

Grading will consist, but not be limited, to the following categories: homework, tests, quizzes, projects, and class participation.

 

GRADING SCALE:

 

100 – 98 = A+                79 – 78 = C+

97 – 92   = A                             77 – 72 = C

91 – 90   = A-                71 – 70 = C-

89 – 88   = B+               69 – 68 = D+

87 – 82   = B                             67 – 62 = D

81 – 80   = B-                            61 – 60 = D-

                                                59 and below = F

 

MAKE UP ASSIGNMENTS:

If you are absent it is your responsibility to find out what you missed and to obtain any notes and homework.  For each day you are absent, you have one day plus one extra day to complete assignments.

 

TESTS:

Make up tests will be given upon an agreed time between the student and teacher.  These times will either be before school, after school, or during Mr. Watson's class.

 

LATE ASSINGMENT POLICY

Any homework not turned into the teacher on the due date will be considered late.  Your Grade will be affected if the assignment is turned in late.

 

One Day Late: Student can only earn 90% of possible points.

Two Days Late: Student can only earn 80% of possible points.

Three Days Late: Student can only earn 70% of possible points.

Four Days Late: Student can only earn 60% of possible points.

Five Days Late: Student can only earn 50% of possible points.

Six Days Late: Assignment will be checked off, but student will not receive any points.

 

LATE PROJECT POLICY

Any project not turned into the teacher on the due date will be considered late.  The Late Assignment Policy applies.

 

ASSIGNMENT HEADING

Every written or typed assignment that is turned in must have a heading in the top right corner:

2.       BE PREPARED

·         Binders, paper, pen/pencil, assignment notebooks, books

 

 

 

3.       BE ACTIVE

·         Participate in class discussions

 

 

4.       BE ATTENTIVE

·         Listen to directions

·         Ask 3 before me

·         Only one person should speak at a time

 

 

 

5.       BE RESPECTFUL

·         To other students and all teachers.
