Curriculum Overview

Class rules:

bulletBe courteous and considerate of your peers and teachers.
bulletBe in your seat and ready to work when it is time for class to begin.
bulletBring all necessary materials to class.
bulletAbide by all school rules listed in your handbook.
bulletBe positive and help to create an environment in which everyone can learn.
bulletIf you feel confused or unsure about something, ASK FOR HELP!

Work expectations:

bulletAll work is expected to be done on time.
bulletA daily assignment that is one day late will be accepted for 50% credit.
bulletAfter one day late, the completed daily work will be accepted, but no points will be earned.
bulletLarge assignments such as book reports, compositions, and projects will be penalized 10% per day late.

Grades for Literature classes are weighted as follows:

bulletDaily work/Homework   30%
bulletBook reports/Projects    40%
bulletTests/Quizzes                 30%

Grades for Language Arts classes are weighted as follows:

bulletDaily work/Homework     30%
bulletWriting /Projects               40%
