Functional Ceramic Bowls

Students learn about clay properties, hand-building methods of clay construction, and various glazing techniques.

After viewing demonstrations on coil-construction, students are asked to create their own bowls following the sketches they have made. 

Once the bowls are “fired,” the students complete the project by glazing them using both underglazes and glazes.
