The Roaring Twenties- Jigsaw Teaching

 

Objective:  At the end of this project, you will be able to identify historical events and processes and explain how they brought about changes in political ideas and traditions.

 

Process:

1.      Choose your group of two or three students.

2.     Sign up for a topic.

3.     Research your topic.  Your group needs to understand the who, what, where, why and how of your topic.  Keep a list of your sources.

4.     Create a learning tool for your classmates.

5.     Teach your classmates.  When you are done teaching, they should be able to explain how your topic led to changes in how people think and act in the United States.

The Scopes Trial

 

Lindbergh and Earhart- flights, kidnapping, disappearance

 

KKK / NAACP

 

Harlem Renaissance- Music, Literature, Visual Arts

 

Prohibition/Crime

 

Technology- Assembly Line, Electricity/appliances/radio

 

Mass Media- Advertising, Mail-order catalogs, use of credit

 

Sports- Heros, use of leisure time
