How can you help your German student?

Throughout the course of the year students may get frustrated with studying. Whether you know German or not there are some ways that you can help your student with their homework or studying for quizzes... here are my suggestions:

Vocabulary:
*The lists are posted on this website for students (and you!) to retrieve from home.
*How to help you child study for quizzes...
~Make flashcards with German on one side and English on the other. Students can study alone or with your assistance.
~Fold vocabulary list so only one language is visible and quiz the student by saying the English words and ask them to spell the German words.
~Give your student an oral quiz... say the word in English and have them write it in German (this is similar to their quizzes!)
~Students can write out the vocabulary words multiple times. This really works for a lot of students.

Keeping up with class work:
*Check the calendar for the class to see what we are up to. Especially when your student is absent, so make-up work can be turned in timely.
*Email or call me and I will attempt to provide as much assistance as possible.
*Look over mid-quarter reports to see where students are succeeding and perhaps falling behind.
*Check out some of the extra links I provide the students and work through the activities together.
