Monday: Today, students had time to complete the class work section of the stems unit for list 3.  Also, I went over how to write a thesis statement in literary analysis writing.  HW: Final draft of the figure 8 personal narrative due Tuesday.  Stems due Friday.

Tuesday: Today, students "published" their figure 8 personal narrative by sharing their story with other members in the class.  Also, I presented students with more information on topic sentences and body paragraphs in literary analysis writing.  HW: Stems due Friday.

Wednesday: Today, we began a short unit on parts of speech using the Buckle Down workbook.  Also, I presented students with more information body paragraphs in literary analysis writing.  HW: Stems due Friday.

Thursday: Today, we did a few small activities looking at the parts of speech.  Also, I finished presenting students with information on literary analysis writing.  HW: Stems-Unit 3 due Friday.  Stems quiz Friday. Rough draft of Poe essay due Tuesday.

Friday: Today, students took a stems quiz on unit 3.  Also, they completed a Friday journal on communicating with the dead.  Finally, we went through a few review sentences to prepare for the parts of speech quiz on Monday.  HW: Review for the parts of speech quiz on Monday.  R.D. of Poe essay due Tuesday.
