SCIENCE ASSESSMENT

Throughout the year, assessments will include but are not limited to:

Ø     Assignments

Ø     Class discussion, small-group discussion and activities

Ø     Problem solving and/or critical thinking activities

Ø     Teacher observations

Ø     Lab write-ups

Ø     Projects

Ø     Quizzes and tests

Please note that the science grade is comprised of three components:

·        50% tests and quizzes,

·        45% daily assignments and labs, and

·        5% Q-sheets. 

The final grade is a ‘weighted’ grade, which takes into account the total category points and the percent value for each category (total points times percent).
