Course Outline for ELL, English Language Learners
Students will improve their reading, writing, and vocabulary skills through various medium. We have a brand new, leveled reading series where the students will progress at a comfortable rate that is correct for them. Our textbook includes short stories, and poetry. We will also read a variety of novels, also at appropriate reading levels, and listen to them on tape.
Assignments policy : 1 day late you will receive 50% of the assignment grade.
Our weeks will generally follow this schedule:
Monday: Emphasis will be on writing
Tuesday: Emphasis on Grammar
Wednesday: Language Art/ Reading
Thursday: Language Arts/ Reading
Friday: Tests/ Fun Day
ELL ACADEMIC SKILLS CLASS
Each of our student’s has an ELL Resource class where they receive help with their homework, and receive extra time to complete tests. If students do not have homework, they must either read a book, or work on fun learning activities. Periodically, we also participate in fun, group, learning games.
