Interested in running for band cabinet?  Please read the following items carefully before deciding.

Band Cabinet is a team whose goal is to assist the band director in making the bands at LZMSN run smoothly and enjoyably.  The band cabinet team works together on all projects and all member's votes carry equal weight in decisions.  Band cabinet members will exhibit outstanding behavior in all rehearsals and concert situations and will seek to set examples to other band students in their work and practice habits.  The cabinet will meet at least once each month and each band cabinet member will perform the duties included in their job description and any other duties required by the director.  Band cabinet members will include, but not be limited to the following positions:

Job Descriptions

President:

• Sign Band Banquet Contract

• Help plan all band events (banquet, concerts, activity nights, other special events)

• Report decisions of cabinet meetings to full Symphonic band

• Provide director with feedback from band members

• Help set up and take down at all concerts

• Give speech at banquet - year-end summary/memories, etc.

• Lead cabinet meetings after consultation with director

• Exemplary behavior and attitude are expected

• Take part in all cabinet decisions

• Create an agenda for each meeting after meeting with director

Vice President:

• Sign Band Banquet Contract

• Help plan all band events (banquet, concerts, activity nights, other special events)

• Provide director with feedback from band members

• Help set up and take down at all concerts

• Fill in for President if absent - cabinet meetings, band announcements Responsible for concert publicity - posters, invitations

• Exemplary behavior and attitude are expected

• Take part in all cabinet decisions

Secretary:

• Take attendance at all rehearsals

• Take notes at all cabinet meetings

• Help Vice President with concert publicity

• Assist director with bulletin board decorations in band room

• Provide director with feedback from band members

• Help set up and take down at all concerts

• Exemplary behavior and attitude are expected

• Take part in all cabinet decisions

Librarians:

• Sort and file all band music

• Provide director with feedback from band members

• Help set up and take down at all concerts

• Exemplary behavior and attitude are expected

• Take part in all cabinet decisions

Cadet Band Representatives:

• Take part in all cabinet decisions

• Provide director with feedback from band members

• Exemplary behavior and attitude are expected

• Report decisions of cabinet meetings to full Cadet band

Spirit Leaders:

• Provide Director with feedback from band members

• Exemplary behavior and attitude are expected

• Take part in all cabinet decisions

• Help set up and take down at all concerts

• In charge of “fun” activities for the band – for example; birthday celebrations, parties, activities, joke of the day, quote of the month, etc.
