I am planning a trip to Tver, Russia. I chose this place because not a lot of people have heard of it. I was actually born there but I have been living in the USA since I was 5. I also chose it because there are a lot of places that are made especially for children. There are a lot of cool places to visit and celebrate special occasions. Their money is called rubl'. One of our dollars is equal to 23 of their rubl's. The kids that go to school have to wear a uniform like at our private schools. They only have 10 grades and they start school at age 7. Their schools are named by numbers, for example: School #5. There are special hospitals for delivering babies and those are named by number as well. The main language there is.... obviously... Russian. The alphabet is very different than the English alphabet. You can see what it looks like below. If you are interested in hearing the national anthem of Russia, click here. All of this is on the page that you can link to. On the left side of the page is the anthem written in Russian. On the right side of the page is the anthem again written in English. If you scroll all the way to the bottom of the page, you can actually hear what the anthem sounds like.
Some of the food comon in the area are borsh (soup with beet), gribnoy' sup (soup with mushrooms) and katletki (beef patties made in the kitchen instead of the grill). They are all very tasty and some of my favorite Russian food.
