Visiting Spain would be my dream vacation spot. Spain has wonderful beaches and some of the spiciest foods. I would maybe spend a total of a week in Spain. I would plan to go sometime in the spring so it wouldn't be too hot. I would plan to stay during the week of May 21, to May 28. I would spend it at the Claris for $1,500 a night. I would fly American Airlines and for $4,345 round trip with one stop in Miami. I would rent a luxury car for $356 a day from AutoEurope. My activities would cost me approximately $250.

Spain was under a dictator until 1975 by General Franco. Since then, King Juan Carlos I has been head of state. Spain is a successful democracy. On June 5, 1977, Spain had its first elections in forty-one years. In 1982, Spain joined NATO and in 1995, Spain joined the European Union. Unfortunately, on March 11, 2004, Spain was the center of a terrorist attack. Almost 300 were killed. Thankfully to democracy, the citizens were able to express their opinions through voting.

The capital of Spain is Madrid. Over 52 million tourists visit Spain each year. It is the top three most visited country in the world. Some of the languages spoken are Castilian Spanish, Catalan, Galician, and Basque. The currency is the Euro.
