You may wonder about the schedule About what classes your children have each day and when. Well the school is using something called block scheduling.
The point of block scheduling is to give students a chance to do homework and be able to ask questions the next day and still get work in on time.
Instead of the regular 10 classes a day, we at MSS have 8. The reason of this is that we have 4 of our main classes blocked. As an example, one day we will have say.... math and social studies blocked and the next we will have language arts and science blocked.
Block scheduling means is you have two of your main classes for 2 periods instead of one. and it switches the next day. For instance one day I will have Language arts for two periods and science for two. Then the next day I have math for two periods and social studies for two periods. We call every block day an A or a B day. Mondays are A days Tuesdays are B days and it switches every day. However on a Friday we have a traditional 10 class schedule. This is the same with half days (see Early Release Schedule).
