October has two different birthstones. One is the opal. There are also several different kinds of opals. There is a common opal which is white and has flashes of orange, green, blue, pink and other colors when you shift it back and forth and there is also the fire opal. The fire opal is dark blue and has brilliant flashes of red and orange among subdued hints of green and blue. There are also rare opals which can be green, gray, black, and even some blue. The other stone is the pink tourmaline. It is not really that rare of a stone and is used sometimes instead of an opal. October first to October twenty-third people are a Libra while the twenty-fourth to the thirty-first is a Scorpio.
