WHO/how to JOIN?

Anybody can join cheerleading! There are a couple things you need to have in order to have before you try out. First, you need a physical up to date and on file. Another is that you need to have passing grades. If you have below a D you will be out for a week. If you have an F you will be out until you can bring your grade up to passing.  It is not good because then you will be missing out on practices and maybe games  and it affects everyone else on the team also.

Tryouts!!

Cheerleading starts in the fall and it is right after the Poms and Girl's Basketball season. To tryout, you must go to the clinic to learn the cheer which you will perform in front of the judges. The day after the clinic, is the tryouts. Good Luck!

Don't forget to BE LOUD, SMILE, AND HAVE FUN!!

Fees

There is an athletic fee that will be determined for 2009-2010 season. Also, there is an approximate $50 competition fee. The South team goes to about 2-3 competitions per season. Some other costs that you must have for the team are the uniform which is around $60. The cheer shoes run anywhere from $40-50. One other thing that most teams for South do for spirit is get some sweatshirts or shirts. The t-shirts are about $12 or you can make your own shirts.

Practices, Games, and Competitions

If there is a competition coming up Mrs.Grandt and Ms.Cohen are more strict. The time is from 2:30-4:30 Monday-Thursday.  Games depend on the Boy's Basketball schedule. We cheer at home games only and perform an awesome half-time routine to show off! Before and after half time, we perform sideline cheers to wish the basketball guys luck. Depending on your grade level, then you cheer for that team, however you have  At competitions, we don't go out of state, it's usually close by or at the most one hour away. Competitions are so much fun and after every competition we get a great gift!
