Welcome to my website! I have been privileged to be teaching for 15 years, 12 years of which I served at Middle School South. This year I am teaching 7th grade science and enjoying every minute of it! I have always wanted to be an educator and have had a passion to teach math and science. I received my Bachelors of Science at Indiana University and my Teachers Certificate at Lake Forest College. I went back to graduate school at National Louis University to receive my Masters in Curriculum and Interdisciplinary Studies. I have been married for 15 years to my wonderful husband, Mark and have three adorable but somewhat spoiled boys: Tony (14 years old), Sam (11 years old) and Alex (7 years old). In my spare time, I like to run, watch Cubs and Bears games and of course go to my children's sports events. I promise that this year will be filled with exhilarating lessons. You will be walking through Flint Creek taking water samples and collecting data. We will be studying unique properties of dry ice, researching genetic disorders, and study Stories in Stone. There will be many hands-on science activities and the experiences it provides are invaluable tool. I will provide the kids with the opportunity to question, prod, poke and generally investigate. The bottom line is I like to have fun with the kids, let them explore, and draw their answers from within themselves, based on their personal experiences. It is my philosophy that if you have to work for something you appreciate it even that much more and that certainly goes for a good education. |
