GRADING

Literature grades are also weighed.  50% of the final grade is homework and 50% of the final grade are projects, quizzes, and tests.

PROJECTS

Several  projects will be assigned this year. . Students will be given  descriptions and rubrics ahead of time.

Our first project is due on November 9th.  The project is based on Bloom's Taxonomy.  Questions and Rubric are here if you need an extra copy.

  NOVELS

This year we will be reading three novels. They are Nothing But the Truth, The Giver, and And Then There Were None.

SHORT STORIES

This quarter, we will be reading short stories from our literature text book. We'll be working with different mapping skills, including character maps, story maps, and using maps to compare and contrast stories.  The text books will be kept in the classroom, but may be taken home if needed.
