Morning Rehearsals
We will be holding our group rehearsals on Thursdays from 7:15 a.m. to 8:15 a.m. at
Lake Zurich Middle School South in room 96. Once again you will be bused back to Sarah Adams and Charles Quentin. We have asked teachers to inform us if a student is lacking in classroom work because of orchestra ... so keep up your classroom work!! Traditionally, fifth grade morning orchestra has treats once a month. What we do, is ask a couple of students to volunteer to bring in treats that fit our district's "Wellness Plan". We enjoy the treats at the end of the rehearsal (8:15) before we leave for our schools. Every student should have a normal breakfast at home before the orchestra rehearsal!!
Supplies for Prelude Orchestra
- Instrument: Students should make sure that their instrument is in good working order. Check to make sure your bow is working (loosen and tighten it!) Check your rosin; is it still usable? Any broken strings? Do you need an upgrade in size?
- Shoulder Rest: Violins and Violas should purchase a quality shoulder rest. These will greatly improve your comfort when playing your instrument as well as improve your playing posture. We recommend the purchase of a KUN or WOLF.
- Essential Elements 2000 Book II (purple stripe)
- "Christmas Favorites" Song Book
- Pencil
- Cleaning Cloth
- Name tag
