            - Loose-leaf paper

            - Blue or black pen only

            - Red pen/marker for grading

            - Agenda/assignment notebook

            - A book to read silently

            - “Bell Ringer”

            - “Readers and Writers” handbook

Grading:

The student’s grade in this class will be determined by a total point system; based on the percentages of points earned of the total points possible.  Points will be earned for homework assignments, “Bell Ringers”, class work, quizzes, tests, projects, and class participation.

Absent:

If a student is absent, the student is responsible for making up the missing work upon the return to school.  You will have 2 days per absence to make up your work.  It is the student’s responsibility to make-up the “Bell Ringers” that he/she missed.

Late Homework:

Turning work in late is the most common preventable action that lowers a student’s grade.  The 7th grade homework policy states that for each day your homework is late 10% will be subtracted from the total.  Detention will be given for late or missing assignments.

All Lake Zurich Middle School South rules apply when in my class – see student code of conduct.  Courtesy is expected.  Language must be appropriate for the classroom; respect will be given to each person and his or her belongings.  Keep hands, feet, and objects to yourself.  Please raise your hand to talk, do not shout out in class.  Listen when the teacher is talking and follow directions.

I will be available to answer questions or provide help during homeroom.  Depending on the time of the year and the day of the week, my after school schedule varies.  If you know ahead of time, we can arrange a day to stay after school as well.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.  E-mail is usually the most effective way to contact me
