Bowling is one of the biggest forms on entertainment in the world, with over 100 million people in over 90 countries practicing it. It is said to originate over 5,000 years ago because in 1930 a child's grave in Egypt was filled with artifacts for practicing the game. Those items were said to date back to 3200 B.C., which proved bowling to be over 5,000 years old. The first actual mention of bowling in text was in 1366 in England when King Edward III banned the game from being played so his troops could focus on their archery practice. Later, King Henry VIII legalized it. No one really knows who specifically brought bowling to the U.S.. The first official standardization on the U.S. bowling rules were established on September 9, 1895 in Beethoven Hall, New York City.

I have bowled in a league since around 5th grade every Monday of the year. I stopped this year, because my friends couldn't play. To the right is my bowling ball, ranging at around $145 to $175 dollars. I bowled a lot, being one of the best in my league. I had an average of 130, and at the beginning I once had an average of 156. My first year was my best, probably because I practiced. I got many highscores like 180 to 195. One time, I bowled three games scoring a 148, 195, and a 188. This game me a total of 531. That is a very high total for a beginner, I was proud of myself. My time usually won every game, and I had a good time for all 3 years I bowled.
You don't have to be athletic or physically fit to bowl. Anyone in the family can play easily. It can be played anywhere though. You can only really play in a bowling alley. These have a lot of bowling lanes, where you throw the ball. So this isn't a game you can play in a field or in your backyard. It can be played any time of the year, because its indoor. Day or night, it doesn't make a difference. Bowling alleys are only open for specific hours every day, so make sure to get there before they do. Bowling alleys can get full quick, so if you really want to bowl, make a reservation. To bowl, all you do is grab a ball that is a good weight, set your feet up the way you want, put your fingers in the ball, find a target pin and throw the ball without crossing the line. You get two throws a frame unless you get a strike, which means you knock down all the 10 pins with one throw, which is good. There are ten frames a game, the tenth frame having 3 throws if you get the second throw hit a pin. That is basically all you need to know about bowling to play.
Bowling alleys provide various types of balls for free. Some alleys have shops to buy bowling balls. Some types that are for beginners are less expensive because they have a default core. They are about $70, they are a standard ball, with your choice of color or design, finger size, ball weight, and can get your name engraved in it. Balls for professional players, such as my Rampage ball, can range from 150 to over 300 dollars. These have a special core on the inside that makes the ball curve a certain way. They have specific colors for the ball, come in certain weights, any finger hole size, and a name engraved in them.
