This is the very first book in the saga.  It begins the story of Bella Swan telling us that she is moving and why.  She moves to Forks, Washington because her mom, Renee, has a new husband Phil who is a minor league baseball player who travels a lot.  Renee is very lonely so Bella decides to send herself to Forks to help her mom.  Bella feels as if she is punishing herself because going to Forks is the last thing that she wants to do. 

    When she starts school at Forks she immediately makes friends and she also immediately has a lot of admirers.  She also has one enemy or so she thinks.  When she walks into the her Biology class Edward Cullen gives off a sort of energy or vibe that makes her think that she is a problem to him.  She goes to the office to give the secretary her signed piece of paper and she sees Edward begging to get his schedule changed for Biology.  Edward sees Bella and his whole body stiffens and she can feel that hate or grudge. She has no idea what she did wrong.  Edward is suddenly her enemy but why? And then suddenly he acts as if nothing bad has happened and he acts nice. 

    Bella is extremely confused  and she becomes friends with Edward and finds out an astonishing secret about his family.  Stunned and completely caught off guard she has to go and think.  She thinks this "about three things I am absolutely positive.....First, Edward was a vampire.  Second, there was a part of him- that I didn't know how potent that part might be- that thirsts for my blood and third, I was unconditionally and irrevocably in love with him.  What happens next? You better read the book to find out!

The book begins with Bella turning 18 and Alice, Edward's sister, insisting that she throw Bella a surprise party.  Bella doesn't want a party or any presents because she doesn't want to except the fact that she is a year older than Edward in a manner of speaking.  When Bella arrives she gets a paper cut from her wrapping paper and Jasper flips so Edward defensively slams Bella into a glass bowl.  Bella cuts her arm and suddenly 6 ravenous vampires are staring at her.  Carlisle is the only one that completely keeps his cool because he works in a hospital and he is around blood everyday.  Bella's arm was cut so Carlisle stitches it up while everyone else gets out of the house.  Bella is always getting hurt so Charlie wasn't really surprised.  '

    Edward isn't the same after that night and the Cullens come to the conclusion that if they leave that everything will be so much better for Bella.  So Edward leaves with his family and Bella goes into the ultimate depression.  She wanders deeper and deeper into the forest behind her house and eventually just lies down to die.  Sam a family friend finds Bella on the ground and takes her home. 

    Months pass and Bella feels as if her life is a black hole.  Bella compromises with Charlie and goes to see Jacob who she hasn't in a while.  Jacob makes her feel a lot better and when she is with him it is as if her life has a meaning.  When she leaves she feels horrible again.  Bella goes cliff diving and Alice sees her but thinks that she is dead.  Edward goes to Italy to go and get the Volturi to get himself killed to be with Bella again.  Alice and Bella fly to Italy to stop him.  Do they end up stopping him and are Edward and Bella reunited?  Read and buy this book to find out!!!

    Jacob and Bella can't see each other anymore because Edward is back.  Jacob and Edward are sworn enemies so this puts Bella in a sticky situation because Jacob is Bella's best friend but Edward is Bella's love for life.  She doesn't know what to do.  Bella has been grounded for suddenly going to Italy without much more than a note.  She is only allowed to see Edward for a certain amount of time and then of course when Charlie is snoring then Edward comes back through Bella's window.  Bella and Edward are constantly wary of the fact that the Volturi said that they will come and visit Bella to see if she has become a vampire yet.  Bella has been promised by Carlisle that he will turn her into a vampire after graduation.  Bella wants Edward to turn her into a vampire though.  That night when Edward climbs through her window he tells Bella that he will change her but Bella has to marry him first.  Bella is stuck and she doesn't like the idea of marriage because she was raised that way. 

    When it gets closer to graduation Charlie agrees to unground Bella as long as she hangs out with Jacob and her other friends not just Edward.  Bella agrees and so she is ungrounded at last.  Edward brings up the fact that she can still go to Florida with the tickets that she has from her last birthday but she says no and they drop the subject.  Unfortunately when Bella is cleaning the dishes Edward brings up the trip with Charlie and Charlie says yes until he finds out that Edward is meant to go with Bella.  Charlie yells at Bella again and says that she is grounded.  Bella did nothing so she will not except this and if she is not aloud to see Edward she will move out because she is legally an adult.   Charlie doesn't want that to happen so he agrees and off they fly to Florida Bella is not used to the weather so she is a little happy when they leave.  Bella comes back and she sees Jacob again and accidentally lets it slip that she is going to become a vampire.  Jacob is enraged and Bella leaves on bad terms.  Will Jacob and Bella make up and will she become a vampire?  READ NOW AND YOU'LL FIND OUT!!    

    Bella has finally agreed to marry Edward and the beginning of the book starts out with everyone staring at her in her new very sophisticated, and highly protective car.  She stops at the gas station and some random guys come up to her and ask her a couple of questions about her car and then they ask to take a picture of the car. Bella feels very awkward and when the men are done she gets in her car and leaves.  She thinks that the car precautions are mandatory and she understands it is only Edward being cautionary.  While she is driving home she worries about Charlie and when she gets home she thinks back to the conversation that she had when she told Charlie that she was engaged.  She was worried about what he would say and now she is only days away from her wedding. 

    Bella is so nervous and Edward asks her if she has gotten cold feet.  Bella denies it and says that Edward is her world and her future.  Bella and Edward get married and Jacob makes it to the wedding and shocks Bella but again they fight and they leave on bad terms.  Bella has no idea how amazing she looks and when she sees her reflection she is stunned. 

    Later that night Bella and Edward get on a plane to go on their REAL honeymoon. GET IT...GET IT??  Anyway so they go on a honeymoon and after a couple of weeks there Bella is getting sick and constantly eating.  She has a bump on her belly, she has mood swings, and she is constantly throwing up.  I wonder..... what does that mean???  So they get home after they find out what it means and Bella stays at the Cullens for a while.  Now we hand it off to you this is the best book so not much is here.  Find out what is happening and what it means....GOOD LUCK!!!
