Dear May Whitney Families,

Congratulations to Maddy Glasser, a 5th grader in Mr. Kleinschmidt’s class, Stephen Sandstedt, a 3rd grader in Mrs. Rothermel’s class, and Reid Talley, a 2nd grader in Mrs. Pisauro’s class!   These three students had artwork which was chosen to be on display at the Administration Center.

A HUGE THANK YOU TO COLDWATER CREEK!!!.  Last school year, the Deer Park store adopted May Whitney and donated $1000 to our school.  This money was used to purchase an LCD projector.  Last month I received another check for $1000.  We are very grateful for their donation and are looking forward to purchasing additional technology for our school.

Enjoy the evening with the PTO sponsored Movie Night tonight.   Imagine That will start promptly at 6:30 in the gym.

Sincerely,

Deb Bruemmer

Principal

PS – If your child is absent please call the attendance line.  The number is (847) 540-3900.   Please note – the district is tracking all schools’ absences on-line.  If you go to the district website, you can check on the percentage of students who are absent from school and also how many of those absences are due to flu like symptoms.

Also, if your child is going to be picked up early from school, please make sure you send a note.  There are times when a sub may be in your child’s classroom.   That person does not have access to the teacher’s computer, so no one receives the information.

Freaky Friday/Spooky Saturday

I want to thank all the parent volunteers, teachers, school administrators and Freaky Friday/Spooky Saturday committee members for making our Freaky Friday and Spooky Saturday events a great success.   I also want to extend a special thanks to Linda Kozar for graciously being our faculty dunk tank volunteer, a rather thankless job requiring her to spend much of Freaky Friday soaking wet in her bathing suit. Thanks again for everyone's contributions to these events as without everyone's hard work and dedication, these events would not have been possible.

Sincerely,

Chris Ketcham
