My name is Kristen Krueger and I am delighted to be a first grade teacher at May Whitney.  I grew up in Lake Zurich and attended Seth Paine, May Whitney, the junior high and high school.  I had a wonderful time growing up and learning in this community.  One of my motivations for becoming a teacher was the history of great teachers I had.

I began my career in District 95 as a one on one aide in first grade during the 1998-1999 school year.  To my surprise I was working in the classroom of my former fourth grade teacher!  Talk about a small world!  She was a phenomenal mentor and I learned a great deal working at her side.  I began my teaching career the following year working in a first grade classroom and have been there ever since (well, not the same  classroom but the same grade). 

First grade is a magical year with students transforming in so many ways.  I am lucky enough to be a part of it and I enjoy it thoroughly.  I know that this is what I was meant to do. 

In my free time I like traveling, photography and reading books.
