PARENT UNIVERSITY- PART I 

MIDDLE SCHOOL NORTH CAFETORIUM

Parent University - Part I is designed to give parents what they have asked for.  A more frequent opportunity to get together with other parents to discuss issues that they are experiencing in their family coupled with a workshop focusing on how to better communicate with their children. 

 

Parent University will be hosting a distinguished panel of speakers including Dave Gardner, Jackie Giese and Dr. Timothy Hull to discuss issues facing our kids today.  We will then have an open panel discussion with a facilitator asking questions submitted by the audience.

 

Come listen to our Middle School South Principal, Dave Gardner and Middle School North Guidance Counselor, Jackie Giese, as they talk about what your child is or will soon be experiencing in middle school.  Our panel will address questions like:  What are some of the situations that your child is exposed to in middle school?  What difficult decisions are they faced with each day?  What can you do to help your child make the right choices?   How is your child coping with peer pressure at this difficult age?

 

We will also have Dr. Timothy Hull talking about the price of privilege and dealing with parental pressure.  As part of his discussion, Dr. Hull will address topics from a book written by Madeline Levine “The Price of Privilege; How Parental Pressure and Material Advantage Are Creating a Generation of Disconnected and Unhappy Kids”.   If you haven’t read this book, you may want to pick it up before Dr. Hull’s presentation.

 

Parent University – Part I is a FREE event open to all interested parents.  Come join us for an interactive discussion guaranteed to help you better understand your child’s world and to guide your child through the stresses of adolescents more effectively.
