WHAT WILL YOUR CHILD BE DOING IN ART CLASS?

Art instruction will encompass the major aspects of Art: drawing, painting, printing, weaving, three dimentional art and two dimentional
design. When appropriate, students will complete at least 1 project in each of these areas.

Children will be looking at art to learn about other cultures, places, artists and works of art.
Children will be talking about art to discuss meanings, ideas, feelings and mood.
And children will be making art to create expressive visual images.

WHEN WILL YOUR CHILD HAVE ART ?

Students come to the Art Room 1 day each week. Classes are 45 minutes in length.Your child will create appromimately 8-12 art projects
during the school year. An art project can require 2-6 class periods to complete. The 5th Grade projects are usually fewer but more involved. Please have your child dress appropriately. Art can be messy!
I look forward to working with your child this year. My goal is to create a safe, enjoyable enviornment for learning and growth in the visual arts. If you have any questions, please feel free to email or call me.
