Second Stranger Danger Incident Reported

Second Stranger Danger Incident Reported

The Kildeer Police Department has notified us of a ‘stranger danger’ report filed this week by a concerned resident. The reported suspicious behavior was reportedly in Kildeer, within District 95 boundaries, and had some similarities to the incident reported to the Lake County Sheriff’s department last week.

In the Kildeer incident it was reported that the suspect watched an elementary-aged student walk toward her home after exiting the school bus in the after-school timeframe. The individual drove a vehicle of a similar color, make, and model as reported last week.  However, the description of the individual in these two incidents was significantly different. Also, the individual did not engage in conversation with the student.

The Kildeer Police Department will continue to monitor our school bus routes with a special emphasis during afternoon drop offs. They have shared this information with personnel at the Lake Zurich and Hawthorn Woods Police Departments as well. The District 95 Transportation Department is aware of the incident and our drivers will continue to be on the alert for any suspicious behavior. Suspicious behavior should be reported to the police department immediately.

Once again, we share this information so you can talk to your children about the importance of not talking or responding to strangers, accepting candy or gifts from strangers, or entering the car of a stranger.
