Spencer Loomis Character Counts Committee

Character Counts is one of the most complete character building programs available to schools and other organizations. The program helps to instill wonderful values in students by educating them using fun activities and other resources. The program is based on six "pillars" of character. The pillars are trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring and citizenship. Spencer Loomis Elementary School takes character very seriously and is excited to offer this outstanding program to our students and community. We have built upon the principles founded in our anti-bullying committee and expanded them to cover all of the Character Counts ideals.

Spencer Loomis School is going to kick off our Character Counts experience with events throughout the month of September. We will focus on each of the particular pillars of character throughout the remainder of the school year. Each month is listed below along with its pillar:

September: Responsibility

October: Respect

November: Citizenship

December / January: Caring

February / March: Trustworthiness

April / May: Fairness

“Watch your thoughts; they become words. Watch your words; they become actions. Watch your actions; they become habits. Watch your habits; they become your character. Watch your character; it becomes your destiny.”
