We believe that encouraging
students to read is of
utmost
importance.

Each
class will visit the library for a planned library period each week.
Students will be given the opportunity to check out books at this time.
Only students with returned books will be allowed to check out books.
Students
in Kindergarten may check out 1 item. Students in 1st-5th grade may
check out 2 items each week.
Library books should be brought back on the student's
scheduled checkout day. At that time, the student my renew the items
or select other titles to check out.
If the student forgets his/her books, he/she may return
them on the next school day.

Their
are no "daily fines" for overdue books, but if any book becomes 3 weeks
overdue, a special note will be sent home. This note will say that
we assume that the book is "lost" and the student will be charged the
replacement cost (plus a $1.00 processing fee) for the book.
The
student will not be able to check out anything else from LMC until
the book is returned or paid for.

The LMC has computers for students and staff.
Computers
in the LMC are provided for student learning. Each student must have
permission to use the Internet on any school equipment.
Teachers
may schedule additional computer time during open LMC times.

The following rules will be followed in the
library:
Take
care of our library environment.
Be respectful to one another and yourself.
Wait
your turn.
Be
quiet when others are talking or working-The noise level in the
LMC must always be low to not
disturb readers.
Disruptive
behavior will not be tolerated. Students will be given a
reminder for the first offense and
will report to Time Out on the
second offense.
No
food, beverages, or gum are allowed in the LMC, unless
permission is granted from LMC
personnel.
