Gifted Program

Replacement Math Learning Targets for the week of January 5, 2009.

Third Grade: We are learning to use multiplication and division in problem solving.

Fourth Grade: We are learning about the relationship of angles and how to logically measure the degrees of angles. Ask your child about the number of degrees that are added every time an angle is added to a triangle.

Fifth Grade: We are continuing to research stocks in preparation for the beginning of the Stock Market Game next Monday. Today we discussed the risks involved in investing is stocks and bonds.

"No use to shout at children to pay attention. If the situations, the materials, the problems before the child do not interest him, his attention will slip off to what does interest him, and no amount of exhortation of threats will bring it back." John Holt
