 Personal Message From Miss Edwards

Throughout my entire life, there have been many people that have influenced me. My mother, in particular, had the greatest impact. She always encouraged me to be a person who truly liked who they are and not what they were expected to be. She taught me how to value the friendship of another and to respect the feelings and opinions of others. She had always given me the encouragement to achieve whatever goals I would set out to accomplish. With my limitations, not once did I ever feel that I could not accomplish those goals. She taught me how to be responsible and to give the most I can to my profession. She also taught me that when people entrust their greatest gift to you, one should take it as an honor, a privilege to be given such a gift.

Teaching is that honor. When each student walks into my classroom.....no matter the age, no matter the limitations...the parent had entrusted me with their greatest gift...their child. If, in some small way, I can make an impact on the development of another; to encourage another to set a goal and to observe them work toward it and to achieve it; to learn about friendship; to learn about responsibility; to learn how to work with a variety of limitations; to look at their own limitations, to love them self, to laugh at them self, to work to improve them self individually; to pass the lessons I have learned from my mother...I have accomplished my goal.
