All about Moodles Moodle is a communication tool which ranges from general information posting all the way to a virtual learning environment and can be used with all classrooms. Training starts at basic Moodling and covers any aspect of interest to participants. SMART Basics Are you interested in using the SMART board but don't know how to begin? This session will instruct you in how to use the SMART board and where to find great sites and lessons to use in your teaching. SMART Notebook Notebook software allows you to create your own SMART lessons utilizing tools such as "drag to reveal", "notebook shade", how to use the Senteo voters and much more. Come and get SMART ready! CAT Training Are you going to be getting a set of CATs (3 workstations) into your early elementary classroom this year? This session will give tips on integrating these seamlessly into your teaching environment as well as give many resources available to your on your CATs. Windows Movie Maker Are you looking for a neat way to tie photos, text, narration, and music together? Windows Movie Maker is a simple tool with many possibilities for classroom application. Making the Most of the Internet Explore an array of information on the internet geared for enabling teachers to get the most out of the internet. This class will focus on several of the outstanding Mega Sites created specifically for teachers. Inspiration Inspiration software is a visual learning tool that allows students from 3rd grade to High School to develop ideas and organize thinking. This tool facilitates brainstorming, prewriting, concept mapping and webbing. It can be helpful in teaching writing, problem solving and conceptual organization and design. Participants will learn the ins and outs of this terrific program and will receive a copy of this program to use in their classroom. Kidspiration Kidspiration software is a visual learning tool that allows students grades K-3 to develop ideas and organize thinking. This tool facilitates brainstorming, prewriting, concept mapping and webbing. It can be helpful in teaching writing, problem solving and conceptual organization and design. Participants will learn the ins and outs of this terrific program and will receive a copy of this program to use in their classroom. Raising Your Computer IQ The focus of this class will be to help you become a more efficient computer user. The class will include: · File Management/Tips and Tricks · Microsoft Word- Tips to make your life easier MS Word: Starting Smart Are you just starting to use MS Word? This session will teach beginners how to start smart by showcasing the main features of MS Word including font formatting, inserting pictures, adding borders, and utilizing templates. Participants are asked to bring information to use while learning (i.e. newsletters, tests, and other classroom materials). MS Word: Beyond the Basics Do you know how to create basic documents with MS Word, but would like to make them look terrific? This session will cover more advanced techniques including: Word Art, Tables, Adding Headers/footers, Auto shapes, Page Borders and more. Participants are asked to bring documents to use while learning (i.e. newsletters, tests, and other classroom materials). Making Great Stuff with Word Templates This session will introduce participants to a plethora of Microsoft Word templates for creating great documents. Templates for newsletters, certificates, brochures, tests and more will be shared. All of the templates will be given to each participant on a CD for use after the session. TimeLinerTimeliner is an outstanding software tool, which allows information to be organized in a linear format. Participants will learn all you need to know to use this tool, which is available on all laptop carts. Suggested grade levels: K-8. Beginning Kid PixThis session will introduce you to the wonderful world of Kid Pix an educational creation software program. With Kid Pix students can create illustrations using drawing tools, stamps, and audio. The program allows for easy merging of student projects into one slide show. Kid Pix software is available on all elementary laptop carts. Participants are eligible to obtain Kid Pix for their teacher workstation at the completion of two Kid Pix sessions. Digital Images Have some great digital photos you would like to work with? Learn the basics of resizing, cropping, and rotating images to make them work for you in newsletters, classroom presentations, and web sites. |
