2020-21 School Year
Reopening Learning Plans for 2020-21
The district continues to plan for the start of the 2020-21 school year with multiple learning models. Plans for three different learning models (Face-to-Face with restrictions, eLearning, and a Hybrid/Blended) have been created for the upcoming school year in response to COVID-19.
The Full Capacity Model (Face-to-Face plan) has been ruled out for the opening of the 2020-21 school year because it is not possible to provide adequate social distancing as currently required by health authorities.
Snapshot documents* highlighting key features of both Hybrid models and the Self-Selected eLearning plan can be viewed by clicking on the icons or words below. The difference between the two Hybrid models contained within the Hybrid snapshot is: Option 1 is a half-day daily attendance model, and Option 2 is a full-day intermittent blocked attendance model. Both models involve partial in-person learning and partial remote learning. Both Hybrid models allow for staggered in-person start dates which could be applied across different grade levels. It also remains an option to apply different Hybrid models to different grade levels.
The full DRAFT Hybrid Instructional Plan can also be viewed here: Draft Hybrid Instructional Plan 2020-21.
*Please note, these are draft documents and are subject to change as we enhance our plans or as directed by health officials and other governing authorities.
Parents of District 95 students will be asked to make a selection for each child currently enrolled in the district between the dates of July 22nd through July 29th. Parents will also be asked whether or not they will need district provided transportation. All selections will be made through Home Access. To complete the selection parents should:
- Log into Home Access at https://hmac.lz95.org/HomeAccess/Account/LogOn?ReturnUrl=%2fhomeaccess%2f.
- Select “Update Registration”, then complete the “Learning Plan Selection 2020-21” form.
At the end of July, a decision will be made about how we will begin learning for the 2020-21 school year. This information will be communicated directly to district families and will also be posted on our website.
