Vision of eLearning

Lake Zurich Community Unit School District 95 seeks to offer a meaningful learning experience for all students that advances learning at every level and in every course.

The success of eLearning is dependent upon all of us doing our part. Students, staff, and parents all have a role to play and each must be accountable in order to continue fostering an effective learning experience. We understand and appreciate the immense effort put forth by each of our families to incorporate eLearning into their daily lives while balancing family and work-related responsibilities. We are extremely grateful for this support, and pledge to offer our families accommodations they may  need to ensure that their student(s) have a successful eLearning experience. 

eLearning Expectations

Expectations for All Parents

  • Follow attendance expectations as listed above by grade level.
  • Support/monitor your child’s participation and engagement with virtual learning opportunities.
  • Maintain open lines of two-way communication with your child’s teacher(s). Please contact the teacher for clarification, assistance and/or support as needed to meet the needs of your child and to ensure a successful eLearning experience.

Expectations for Students and Staff

 
Students will...

  • Each day, students will log into Seesaw to access posted information to guide their learning.
  • Attend Morning Meetings and Mini-Lessons for ELA and Math as scheduled by the teacher.
  • Access Choice Boards to plan optional choices for the day.
  • Submit assignments through Seesaw or per teacher direction.
Staff will...

  • Each day, the teacher will post to Seesaw by 9:00 a.m.
  • The teacher will be available for questions/support/teaching each day.
  • Teacher contact hours are 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 – 3:00 p.m.
  • Provide regular feedback to students through Seesaw or email when needed.
  • Collaborate with other teachers (electronically) to support the learning of students.

Expectations for Students and Staff

Students will...
  • Log into each course each day through Canvas by 10 p.m. By logging into the Canvas learning management system, attendance will be automatically recorded. 
  • Engage in, and complete, any learning experiences posted by teachers.
  • Submit work through Canvas by the posted due date.   
  • Contact the teacher with any learning issues or needs.  
  • Use the technical support link or phone number to report any technical issues. 
  • Check their D95 email each day for any additional information.
Staff will…
  • Update the daily course work in Canvas by 9:00 a.m.
  • Assign due dates for each activity or experience.     
  • Provide contact information on the Canvas Course Home Page. 
  • Be available for questions/support/teaching each day.  
  • Contact hours are 9:00 - 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. Emails/contacts received after 3:00 p.m. will be answered the following day.
  • Provide regular feedback to students.
  • Continue to work with other teachers (electronically) to support the learning of students.
